Severe Weather and Flooding Expected Across Parts of the South into the Ohio Valley

Widespread heavy rain and flash flooding is possible across the Mid-Mississippi Valley and Ohio Valley through Friday night along a slow-moving cold front. South of this front will be a severe weather threat from the Southern Plains, the Mid-South, and Lower Mississippi Valley to the Ohio Valley. Chilly temperatures and heavy mountain snowfall will persist for parts of the West.

Saturday: N wind to 30 kts backing NW 15 to 25 kts early in the afternoon. Waves 5 to 8 ft. Snow likely.

Saturday Night: NW wind 10 to 20 kts. Waves 3 to 5 ft subsiding to 1 to 3 ft after midnight. Mostly cloudy in the evening then becoming partly cloudy. A small craft advisory may be needed.
