Heavy Rainfall Threat for Southern Plains and Mississippi Valley; Mild Temperatures for the East

Widespread showers and thunderstorms with the risk for flash flooding from the Southern Plains to the Mississippi Valley develops on Tuesday. Moisture tracking into the Pacific Northwest will bring heavy lower elevation/coastal rain and mountain snow. Tuesday: Southeast winds 10 to 15 knots with gusts up to 20 knots, diminishing to 5 to 10 knots in the afternoon. Seas 3 to 4 feet, occasionally to 5 feet. A slight chance of showers in the morning. Patchy dense fog in the afternoon.

Tuesday Night: East winds 5 to 10 knots, becoming southeast 10 to 15 knots after midnight. Seas 3 to 4 feet, occasionally to 5 feet. A slight chance of showers. Patchy dense fog. A slight chance of thunderstorms after midnight.
