Another Round of Severe Thunderstorms in the South; Another Pacific Storm Expected for California

Scattered severe thunderstorms will likely occur today from central Louisiana eastward across the central Gulf Coast states and into the Carolinas. Very large hail and several tornadoes are possible, including a couple of strong tornadoes. Another Pacific storm will bring additional rounds of heavy rain and mountain snow to California late Monday into Wednesday.

A chance of showers and thunderstorms late this morning and early afternoon, then a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms late. Patchy fog.

Tonight: South winds 10 to 15 knots. Waves 2 to 3 feet. Patchy fog in the evening.

Monday: South winds 5 to 10 knots. Waves 1 foot or less. A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Patchy fog.

Monday Night: Southeast winds 5 to 10 knots. Waves 1 foot or less. A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms in the evening, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after midnight.

Tuesday: South winds 5 to 10 knots, becoming north in the afternoon. Waves 2 to 3 feet. A chance of thunderstorms. Showers likely, mainly in the morning.

Tuesday Night: Northeast winds 15 to 20 knots with gusts up to 25 knots. Waves 3 to 4 feet.

Wednesday: Northeast winds 20 to 25 knots, becoming east 10 to 15 knots in the afternoon. Waves 2 to 4 feet.

Wednesday Night: East winds around 10 knots. Waves around 2 feet.

Thursday: East winds 10 to 15 knots. Waves 2 to 3 feet.

Thursday Night: Southeast winds 10 to 15 knots. Waves 2 to 3 feet. winds and waves higher in and near thunderstorms.
