Storms and Heavy Rain From the Southeast to the East Coast; Strong Winter Storm in Alaska

Heavy rainfall and thunderstorms will continue through Thursday along the Southeast Coast through the Carolinas. Heavy to excessive rainfall may lead to flash, urban and small stream flooding. A strong winter storm will bring blizzard conditions to the Arctic coastline in Alaska through Thursday.

Today: Southeast to south winds 10 to 15 knots, becoming southwest near 15 knots late this morning, then becoming west to northwest 20 to 25 knots this afternoon. Bay waters a light to moderate chop, becoming very rough. Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms this morning, then isolated showers this afternoon. Bay waters rougher and winds higher in and around thunderstorms.

Tonight: Northwest to north winds 20 to 25 knots, becoming north to northeast near 20 knots after midnight. Bay waters very rough, becoming rough.

Friday: Northeast winds near 20 knots, decreasing to 15 to 20 knots. Bay waters rough, becoming choppy.

Friday Night: Northeast to east winds 15 to 20 knots, decreasing to near 15 knots. Bay waters choppy, becoming a moderate chop.

Saturday: East winds 10 to 15 knots. Bay waters a light to moderate chop.

Saturday Night: East winds 10 to 15 knots. Bay waters a light to moderate chop.

Sunday And Sunday Night: East to southeast winds 10 to 15 knots. Bay waters a light to moderate chop.

Monday: Southeast winds 10 to 15 knots. Bay waters a light to moderate chop.

Monday Night: Southeast winds increasing to near 15 knots. Bay waters becoming a moderate chop.
