Heavy Precipitation and Strong Winds in the West; Locally Severe Weather in the East

Several atmospheric river events will bring widespread moderate to heavy precipitation and strong winds to much of the Pacific Northwest and California through early next week. A few storms might produce locally strong to damaging wind gusts over a portion of eastern North Carolina on Friday.

Tue Night: NE winds around 15 kt with gusts up to 20 kt. Seas 6 to 9 ft. seas are reported as significant wave height, which is the average of the highest third of the waves. Individual wave heights may be more than twice the significant wave height.
