A frigid cold airmass will bring significantly colder weather across the eastern two thirds of the country early this week. Temperatures will tie or break many records across the Southeast through tonight. Moderate to heavy lake effect snow will continue downwind of the Great Lakes. Tonight: W winds 10 to 15 kt with gusts up to 25 kt. Waves 2 to 4 ft. Areas of fog in the evening. A chance of showers in the evening.

Tue: W winds 10 to 15 kt with gusts up to 30 kt, increasing to 15 to 20 kt with gusts up to 40 kt in the afternoon. Waves 3 to 4 ft.

Tue Night: W winds 15 to 20 kt with gusts up to 40 kt, diminishing to 10 to 15 kt with gusts up to 30 kt after midnight. Waves 3 to 4 ft.
