High Winds and Blizzard Conditions in the Central U.S.; Critical Fire Weather in Southern California
A powerful winter storm will continue to bring widespread impacts to the central U.S. today. Blizzard conditions will continue across portions of the east-central and northern Plains while high winds to 65 mph will continue over portions of the west-central and northern Plains into this evening. Gusty offshore winds will drive several days of critical fire weather in southern California.

Tonight: SW winds 10 to 15 kt, diminishing to 5 to 10 kt late this evening, then becoming W 10 to 15 kt after midnight. Waves 1 ft or less, then around 2 ft after midnight. A chance of showers early this evening, then showers late this evening and early morning. A chance of showers late.
Sat: W winds 15 to 20 kt, increasing to 20 to 25 kt with gusts up to 35 kt late in the afternoon. Waves 2 to 4 ft. Isolated showers in the afternoon.
