Widespread heavy rain and flash flooding is possible across the Mid-Mississippi Valley and Ohio Valley through Friday night along a slow-moving cold front. South of this front will be a severe weather threat from the Southern Plains, the Mid-South, and Lower Mississippi Valley to the Ohio Valley. Chilly temperatures and heavy mountain snowfall will persist for parts of the West.

Synopsis: PHZ100-242015- 914 PM HST Thu Mar 23 2023 .Synopsis for Hawaiian coastal waters... Surface ridging will build north of the state through Friday night, allowing trade winds to gradually return from east to west across the island chain. The ridge will lift further north this weekend, bringing moderate to locally strong trades back to the coastal waters. The trades will be on the decrease Sunday night as a front approaches from the west, with light to moderate southeasterly winds then expected for the first half of next week. $$
