Severe thunderstorms are likely today in the southern Plains from northwest Texas and the Texas Panhandle into parts of western Oklahoma. These storms will produce very large hail and a few tornadoes. Also, a potential widespread flood event is appearing more likely across the southern Plains into the Arklatex this week, especially in Texas, from repeated rounds of thunderstorms and heavy rain.
