A powerful Nor'easter, first of the winter season, is expected to roll-up the Northeastern Seaboard and impact the region with a number of hazards this weekend. Very heavy wet snow and high gusty winds will affect a good portion of New England and rain will lash coastal areas. Meanwhile, dangerous fire weather conditions continue for southern California this weekend and likely into next week.

Light to moderate winds will continue through tonight while long period NW swell slowly subsides. An approaching front will cause the winds becoming southwest to westerly on Saturday before turning back from the north and increasing on Sunday. As winds ease and turn out of the NE Monday night into Tuesday, another long period large amplitude swell will move into the waters. This will cause large breaking waves across nearshore shoals. $$
