Significant Ice Storm for the South

A relatively long duration ice storm is expected for portions of Southern Plains & Mid-South beginning today through Wednesday. Winter Storm Warnings and Ice Storm Warnings are now in effect from central Texas into the mid-Mississippi Valley. Heavy ice accumulations exceeding half an inch in some areas will cause power outages and tree damage. Travel could be nearly impossible in some areas.
