


Unsettled in the South; Pacific Storm on the West Coast
Showers and a few strong to severe thunderstorms associated with a system in southeastern Texas. A strong and cold Pacific storm will produce heavy rain and heavy mountain snow, and strong, gusty winds for parts of the West coast. Gusty winds ahead of this system may produce critical fire weather threats in the North and Central Plains this weekend. Lake effect snows persist in the Northeast.

Synopsis: A low pressure storm system will develop in the Central Gulf
tonight and move over the area tomorrow for unsettled weather
Saturday and colder temperatures Sunday and into the first part of
next week. A Small Craft Advisory has been issued for coastal waters
from Tarpon Springs to Suwannee River FL out 20 to 60 NM, and
additional advisory to cautionary headlines are likely to follow on
subsequent forecast cycles. By mid-week, conditions will be slowly
improving with benign weather returning.
