


Tracking Three Storms with Widespread Impacts this Week
A winter storm will bring snow and some ice to the Midwest, Great Lakes and Northeast today while strong thunderstorms will be possible in portions of Alabama, Georgia and Florida. Additional heavy mountain snow and gusty winds will continue in the Southwest from a second storm. A third storm will bring heavy coastal rain and mountain snow to California and the Northwest tonight into Friday.

Channel including the Channel Islands National Marine Sanctuary
and National Park...at 16Z, or 8 AM PST, a 1027 MB high pressure
center was located about 1000 NM southwest of Point Conception. A
985 MB low was located 400 NM west of Seattle, with a cold front
extending southward. Strong west to northwest winds will diminish
across the waters today, and winds will to the south, becoming gusty
as the next low pressure system approaches. Winds will likely reach
gale force late tonight and continue through early Thu.
