Tracking a Strong Cold Front Crossing the Central to Eastern States into the Weekend

A strong cold front will cross the Rockies today, Midwest Friday, Great Lakes to Mississippi Valley Saturday, then East Coast on Sunday with areas of showers and thunderstorms. Cold high pressure in the wake of the front will bring areas of gusty winds and snow to the Rockies and Plains today into Saturday. Severe thunderstorms will be possible Saturday from east Texas into the Mid to Deep South.

Synopsis: A 1003 mb low is developing 150 NM north of Deadhorse and will move to 200 NM north of Utqiagvik as a 1007 mb low this afternoon. It will then remain in place and weaken to 1012 mb by 3pm Fri before exiting to the northeast north of the Canadian Archipelago by Saturday afternoon. A 984 mb low in the Bering Strait will move to 100 NM south of Nome as a 989 mb low by 3pm Thu, to near Bethel as a 996 mb low by 3am Fri and then move east and weaken slowly.
