Heavy thunderstorms will bring excessive rainfall which may lead to flash, urban, and river flooding over southeast Texas today and tonight. Gusty to high winds are ongoing today from the southern Appalachians into southern New England. Damaging wind gusts of up to 60 mph are possible across the National Capitol Region into southeast Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

Synopsis: A 1009 mb low near Point Hope will move into the Central Chukchi Sea tonight then slowly weaken and eventually merge with a 999 mb low that develops E of the Pribilofs. High pressure over the Northeast Bering Sea will move in to the SW mainland, and high pressure will pull back into Siberia with weak low pressure over the Bering Strait Sat night.
