Detailed Forecast

Synopsis: Marine stratus will remain over most of the Gulf of Alaska, with patchy dense fog expected over the outer waters through the morning. For the inner channels, sea breezes are likely to pick up in the afternoon, especially strong in Lynn Canal. Western Icy Strait looks to channel strong winds being enhanced by NW wind around Cape Spencer. Otherwise, lighter winds expected across the region. A developing gale force low pressure system moves into the western gulf overnight Friday bringing increased winds and wave heights.
