A strong storm is expected to produce heavy rainfall in northern and central California that could lead to significant and life-threatening flash floods and mudslides, particularly over burn scar areas, and periods of heavy snow and gusty winds from the Cascades and Sierra into the Intermountain West through Monday. Synopsis: A rapidly deepening low will approach the outer coastal waters and slow down through early Monday, with a strong front crossing the local waters today. The low will weaken and lift toward Vancouver Island on Monday, followed by another much weaker disturbance Tuesday. An active pattern likely continues through much of next week.
