Scattered severe thunderstorms capable of gusty winds, hail, and flash flooding will be possible across the Plains through Tuesday. Elsewhere, a flash flood watch is in effect for the Sierra Nevada, where thunderstorms with frequent lightning may also occur. Heavy rain in parts of southern Texas may produce localized flooding, while areas of rain will also linger in the Mid Atlantic.
