A storm system moving across the Southern U.S. will continue areas of heavy rain and strong to severe thunderstorms into Saturday over the northern Gulf Coast and Lower Mississippi River Valley. Snow will linger over west Texas and New Mexico through Saturday morning. A storm moving into the Pacific Northwest will bring heavy snow to the Cascades Saturday afternoon into Sunday morning.
