Multiple clusters of severe thunderstorms with damaging wind swaths, heavy rain, hail and a tornado or two are expected across parts of the Midwest on Tuesday. Widespread oppressive heat is expected the rest of the week for much of the U.S. as excessive heat warnings and watches along with heat advisories are in effect for the Northwest, much of the Central U.S. and parts of the Northeast.
