Severe storms may produce damaging winds, large hail, and, locally, heavy rain from the Middle Mississippi Valley to the Great Lakes on Tuesday. By Wednesday, weather conditions settle into a quieter summer-time weather pattern. A trough will keep conditions cool and unsettled in the Pacific Northwest, and fire weather threats elevated in the Great Basin. Elsewhere, summer warmth is expected.
