Inclement Weather Continues in the West

Two systems will impact the Pacific Northwest and Intermountain West today. Currently, there is a Pacific cold front bringing widespread rain and mountain snow from central California to the northern Rockies. Another system will enter the area tonight into tomorrow, bringing strong and gusty winds to the coastal areas and exposed terrain, and over a foot of snowfall to the Cascades.

High pressure north of the state will maintain moderate to locally strong trade winds today, with some weakening tonight and Tuesday. A front will make its way down the island chain late Tuesday into Wednesday and will bring strong northeast winds. Another large northwest swell is expected to build on Tuesday, rapidly building seas in excess of 10 feet in waters exposed to the swell. $$
