Heavy lake-effect and lake-enhanced snow will persist downwind of the Great Lakes and produce some whiteout conditions that could cause difficult travel conditions. A coastal low will produce moderate to heavy snow over parts of southern and eastern New England into the afternoon. Early This Morning: Northwest wind 20 to 25 knots. Snow showers. Heavy freezing spray. Waves 7 to 10 feet occasionally to 13 feet building to 8 to 11 feet occasionally to 14 feet.

Today: West wind 20 to 25 knots backing southwest late. Gusts up to 32 knots. Snow showers through early afternoon, then scattered snow showers late. Heavy freezing spray through the day. Waves subsiding to 6 to 9 feet occasionally to 11 feet.

Tonight: Southwest wind 15 to 25 knots. Mostly cloudy. Scattered snow showers through late evening, then isolated snow showers by midnight. Heavy freezing spray through midnight. Waves subsiding to 3 to 5 feet occasionally to 7 feet.

Wednesday: Southwest wind 10 to 15 knots. Cloudy. A slight chance of snow showers in the morning, then a chance of snow showers in the afternoon. Waves subsiding to 2 to 3 feet.

Wednesday Night: West wind 15 to 25 knots becoming 20 to 25 knots after midnight. Snow showers likely. Freezing spray. Waves building to 7 to 10 feet occasionally to 13 feet.
