Heavy lake-effect and lake-enhanced snow will persist downwind of the Great Lakes and produce some whiteout conditions that could cause difficult travel conditions. A coastal low will produce moderate to heavy snow over parts of southern and eastern New England into the afternoon. Tonight: Southwest wind 10 to 20 knots. Cloudy with isolated snow showers. Waves subsiding to 1 to 2 feet.

Wednesday: Southwest wind 10 to 15 knots veering west in the afternoon. Cloudy with a chance of snow showers. Waves building to 2 to 3 feet.

Wednesday Night: West wind 15 to 25 knots. Cloudy with a slight chance of snow showers. Heavy freezing spray after midnight. Waves building to 3 to 5 feet occasionally to 7 feet.
