Severe thunderstorms are forecast through this weekend along a slow moving cold front and secondary storm system that will impact areas from the southern Plains to the Great Lakes. Numerous rain showers and a slight chance of thunderstorms through late evening, then scattered rain showers and a slight chance of thunderstorms by midnight. Waves 2 to 4 feet subsiding to 2 to 3 feet.

Saturday: Northwest wind 10 to 15 knots veering north 5 to 15 knots late. Mostly cloudy through early afternoon then becoming mostly sunny. Waves subsiding to 1 to 2 feet.

Saturday Night: North wind less than 10 knots veering northeast after midnight. Gusts up to 17 knots. Clear. Waves calm to 1 foot.

Sunday: Southeast wind less than 10 knots backing east 10 to 15 knots in the afternoon. Partly cloudy. Waves building to 1 to 2 feet.
