Inclement Weather in the Pacific Northwest; Severe Thunderstorms in the Southeast; Impending Winter Storm

An approaching storm will bring rain and high elevation snow to Pacific Northwest through the weekend. Isolated severe thunderstorms are possible across parts of the Southeast today into this evening as a low strengthens over the Southeast. Today: Variable winds near 5 knots, becoming west to northwest and increasing to near 15 knots late. Seas 1 foot or less, building to 1 to 2 feet. Nearshore waters smooth, becoming a moderate chop. Isolated showers this afternoon.

Tonight: Northwest to north winds increasing to 25 to 30 knots. Seas building to 2 to 4 feet, occasionally to 5 feet. Nearshore waters becoming extremely rough. Isolated showers in the evening.

Monday: Northwest to north winds 25 to 30 knots, decreasing to near 20 knots in the afternoon. Seas 2 to 4 feet, occasionally to 5 feet. Nearshore waters extremely rough, becoming rough.

Monday Night: Northwest to north winds 20 to 25 knots. Seas 2 to 4 feet, occasionally to 5 feet. Nearshore waters very rough.

Tuesday: North winds near 20 knots, becoming north to northeast and decreasing to 5 to 10 knots in the afternoon. Seas 2 to 3 feet, subsiding to 1 to 2 feet. Nearshore waters rough, becoming smooth to a light chop.

Tuesday Night: Northeast winds 5 to 10 knots, becoming northeast to east. Seas around 1 foot. Nearshore waters smooth to a light chop.

Wednesday: East to southeast winds near 10 knots. Seas 1 to 2 feet. Nearshore waters a light chop.

Wednesday Night: East to southeast winds 10 to 15 knots, becoming southeast and increasing to 15 to 20 knots. Seas around 2 feet, building to 3 to 4 feet, occasionally to 5 feet. Nearshore waters a light to moderate chop, becoming choppy.

Thursday: Southeast winds near 15 knots. Seas 3 to 4 feet, occasionally to 5 feet. Nearshore waters a moderate chop.

Thursday Night: Southeast winds near 15 knots. Seas 3 to 4 feet, occasionally to 5 feet. Nearshore waters a moderate chop. Isolated showers.
