Above Average Temperatures for the West and Central Plains; Lake Effect Snow Continues

Well above average temperatures will prevail across the Plains and the West Coast this week, while a cold front will bring Arctic air to the South and East Coast Thursday and Friday. Wednesday: Southwest to west winds 5 to 10 knots, becoming west to northwest 10 to 15 knots. Seas around 1 foot, except 1 to 2 feet west of cosgrove shoal light. Nearshore waters smooth to a light chop, becoming a light to moderate chop. Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms.

Wednesday Night: West to northwest winds 10 to 15 knots, becoming west near 15 knots. Seas 1 to 2 feet, except 2 to 3 feet west of cosgrove shoal light. Nearshore waters a light to moderate chop, becoming a moderate chop. Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms.

Thursday: West winds 15 to 20 knots, becoming northwest near 25 knots. Seas around 2 feet, building to 2 to 4 feet, occasionally to 5 feet. West of cosgrove shoal light, seas 3 to 4 feet, occasionally to 5 feet, building to 5 to 6 feet, occasionally to 8 feet. Nearshore waters choppy, becoming extremely rough. scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms.

Thursday Night: Northwest to north winds near 25 knots, becoming north near 20 knots. Seas 2 to 4 feet, occasionally to 5 feet, except 6 to 8 feet, occasionally to 10 feet west of cosgrove shoal light. Nearshore waters extremely rough, becoming rough. Isolated showers.

Friday: North to northeast winds near 20 knots, decreasing to 10 to 15 knots. Seas 2 to 3 feet, subsiding to 1 to 2 feet. West of cosgrove shoal light, seas 4 to 6 feet, occasionally to 8 feet, subsiding to 3 to 4 feet, occasionally to 6 feet. Nearshore waters rough, becoming a light to moderate chop.

Friday Night: Northeast winds near 10 knots. Seas 1 to 2 feet, except 2 to 4 feet, occasionally to 5 feet west of cosgrove shoal light. Nearshore waters a light chop.
