Tracking Atmospheric River for the West Coast; Space Weather Storming Continues

An atmospheric river will bring threats of gusty to high winds and heavy rainfall to California mainly Thursday into Saturday which may bring areas of flooding and wind damage. Heavy snow will be possible over the Sierra Nevada mountains Thursday into Friday associated with the atmospheric river. Thursday: Northwest winds 20 to 25 knots. Rain showers. Waves 5 to 9 feet. Waves occasionally around 11 feet.

Thursday Night: Northwest winds 15 to 25 knots diminishing to 10 to 15 knots. Rain showers likely. Waves 4 to 7 feet subsiding to 3 to 6 feet. Waves occasionally around 9 feet.

Friday: Northwest winds 10 to 15 knots. A chance of rain showers. Waves 2 to 4 feet.

Friday Night: North winds 5 to 15 knots becoming northeast. Mostly cloudy. Waves 1 to 3 feet.

Saturday: Southeast winds 5 to 15 knots becoming southwest 15 to 20 knots. A chance of rain during the day, then rain saturday night. Waves 2 feet or less building to 2 to 4 feet.

Sunday: West winds 15 to 25 knots becoming northwest to 30 knots. Rain showers during the day, then rain and snow showers sunday night. Waves 5 to 8 feet building to 7 to 11 feet, then subsiding to 6 to 9 feet. Waves occasionally around 14 feet.

Monday: Northwest winds to 30 knots diminishing to 15 to 25 knots. Rain and snow showers likely during the day, then a chance of rain showers monday night. Waves 6 to 10 feet subsiding to 3 to 6 feet. Waves occasionally around 13 feet.
