A Couple of Fast Moving Storms Affecting Areas Along and East of the Rockies

A couple of storm systems will impact travel conditions through the first half of this weekend. Heavy snow from the mountains of the West will move into the upper Midwest and upper Great Lakes through tonight. Tonight: Southeast wind 15 to 25 knots veering south late in the evening, then veering southwest 15 to 20 knots after midnight becoming 15 to 25 knots early in the morning. Gusts up to 30 knots. Rain in the evening. Slight chance of thunderstorms through around midnight. Chance of rain in the late evening and overnight. Patchy fog after midnight. Waves 4 to 6 feet building to 5 to 7 feet late in the evening, then subsiding to 4 to 6 feet after midnight subsiding to 3 to 5 feet early in the morning.

Friday: West wind 15 to 25 knots with gusts to around 30 knots veering northwest with gusts to around 30 knots late in the morning, then becoming northwest 15 to 25 knots early in the afternoon easing to 10 to 15 knots late in the afternoon. Chance of rain in the morning. Waves 3 to 4 feet subsiding to 1 to 2 feet late in the afternoon.

Friday Night: Northwest wind 5 to 10 knots veering north late in the evening, then veering east after midnight veering southeast early in the morning. Partly cloudy through around midnight then becoming mostly cloudy. Waves 1 to 2 feet.

Saturday: South wind 5 to 10 knots becoming southwest 10 to 15 knots late in the morning, then becoming west 15 to 20 knots early in the afternoon becoming 15 to 25 knots late in the afternoon. Snow and rain in the morning, then snow likely in the afternoon. Waves 1 to 2 feet building to 2 to 4 feet late in the afternoon.
