A storm system will shift from eastern Texas into the lower Mississippi Valley today with additional threats of severe thunderstorms and heavy to excessive rainfall which may bring flooding. Late This Afternoon: Southwest wind 10 to 15 knots. Cloudy with a slight chance of showers. Waves 2 to 4 feet subsiding to 2 to 3 feet.

Tonight: Southwest wind 5 to 15 knots veering west less than 10 knots late. A chance of rain showers through late evening, then rain showers likely by midnight. A chance of rain showers late. Waves subsiding to 1 to 2 feet.

Tuesday: Northeast wind less than 10 knots. A chance of rain showers through early afternoon, then rain showers late. Waves calm to 1 foot.

Tuesday Night: Southeast wind less than 10 knots veering southwest 10 to 20 knots after midnight. Rain showers. Waves building to 2 to 4 feet.

Wednesday: West wind 15 to 25 knots veering northwest up to 30 knots in the afternoon. Gale force gusts up to 37 knots. Rain showers possibly mixed with snow showers in the morning, then snow showers possibly mixed with rain showers in the afternoon. Waves building to 5 to 8 feet occasionally to 10 feet.
