
Strong Atmospheric River Bringing Heavy Rain to the Pacific Northwest; Areas of Snow in the North-Central and Eastern U.S.
A strong atmospheric river will bring prolonged heavy rainfall along with gusty winds to the Pacific Northwest through much of this week. The heavy rainfall may lead to widespread urban and river flooding. Tuesday Night: South wind less than 10 knots backing northeast 10 to 20 knots after midnight. Snow showers likely in the evening, then snow after midnight. Waves building to 2 to 4 feet. Wednesday: North wind 20 to 25 knots diminishing to 15 to 20 knots in the afternoon. Cloudy. A chance of snow in the morning, then a slight chance of snow showers in the afternoon.
