...Gales Expected Tuesday...

.A strong frontal system will move into the coastal waters Tuesday
with gales likely Tuesday. This will also push seas in much of
the area to warning levels.

Waters from Florence to Cape Blanco OR from 10 to 60 nm-

...GALE WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 7 AM PST TUESDAY MORNING
THROUGH 4 PM PST TUESDAY AFTERNOON...

* Winds...South and likely to reach advisory strength late Monday
  night then 30 to 40 kt with gusts to 40 to as high as 50 kt
  Tuesday morning through Tuesday afternoon.

* Seas...South wind waves and northwest swell will combine and
  likely produce high seas of 14 to 18 ft on Tuesday. Elevated
  seas are then likely to persist through Wednesday night.

* Areas affected...The strongest winds and largest seas are likely
  to occur north of Cape Arago beyond 5 nautical miles from
  shore.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Gale Watch is issued when the risk of gale force winds of 34 to
47 knots has significantly increased, but the specific timing
and/or location is still uncertain. It is intended to provide
additional lead time for mariners who may wish to consider
altering their plans.
