...STRONG NORTHWEST WINDS MONDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH LATE MONDAY
NIGHT...

.A FAST-MOVING CLIPPER WILL MOVE THROUGH THE REGION ON MONDAY.
BEHIND THE DEPARTING LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM STRONG NORTHWEST WINDS
ARE EXPECTED. MARINERS CAN EXPECT SUSTAINED WINDS BETWEEN 10 AND
25 KNOTS WITH GUSTS TO 30 KNOTS. A FEW GALE-FORCE GUSTS TO 35
KNOTS ARE POSSIBLE ALONG THE SOUTH SHORE FROM PORT WING TO SAXON
HARBOR WI. WIND AND RESULTANT WAVES WILL QUICKLY SUBSIDE LATE
MONDAY NIGHT AS THE LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM PULLS AWAY AND HIGH
PRESSURE BUILDS INTO THE WESTERN GREAT LAKES.

TUESDAY. A GALE WATCH HAS ALSO BEEN ISSUED. THIS GALE WATCH IS IN
EFFECT FROM MONDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH MONDAY EVENING.

* SUSTAINED WINDS...NORTHWEST 15 TO 25 KNOTS.

* WIND GUSTS...UP TO 35 KNOTS.

* WAVES...4 TO 6 FEET.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY MEANS THAT WIND SPEEDS OF 21 TO 33 KNOTS
ARE EXPECTED TO PRODUCE HAZARDOUS WAVE CONDITIONS TO SMALL CRAFT.
INEXPERIENCED MARINERS...ESPECIALLY THOSE OPERATING SMALLER
VESSELS SHOULD AVOID NAVIGATING IN THESE CONDITIONS.

A GALE WATCH IS ISSUED WHEN THE RISK OF GALE FORCE WINDS OF 34 TO
47 KNOTS HAS SIGNIFICANTLY INCREASED...BUT THE SPECIFIC TIMING
AND/OR LOCATION IS STILL UNCERTAIN. IT IS INTENDED TO PROVIDE
ADDITIONAL LEAD TIME FOR MARINERS WHO MAY WISH TO CONSIDER
