...SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 1 PM TUESDAY TO 4 PM CDT
WEDNESDAY...

The National Weather Service in Chicago has issued a Small Craft
Advisory, which is in effect from 1 PM Tuesday to 4 PM CDT
Wednesday.

* WINDS...Northwest to 25 kt.

* SIGNIFICANT WAVES...to 10 ft.

* OCCASIONAL WAVES...to 13 ft.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Small Craft Advisory means that wind speeds of 21 to 33 knots
are expected to produce hazardous wave conditions to small craft.
Inexperienced mariners...especially those operating smaller
vessels should avoid navigating in these conditions.

...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM APPROACHING THE WATERS...

The areas affected include...
  NEARSHORE WATERS FROM WINTHROP HARBOR TO MICHIGAN CITY...
  OPEN WATERS FROM WINTHROP HARBOR TO MICHIGAN CITY OUT TO MID
LAKE...

At 730 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated a line of strong
thunderstorm, capable of producing winds to around 30 knots. These
thunderstorms were located 13 nm west of Montrose Harbor, moving
northeast at 15 knots.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots...locally higher
waves...and lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor
immediately until this storm passes.
