.DEEP LOW PRESSURE WILL RESIDE ACROSS THE STRAITS AND EASTERN UPPER
MICHIGAN THROUGHOUT THE DAY. COLDER AIR WRAPPING AROUND THIS LOW
WILL SUSTAIN UNSTABLE CONDITIONS ACROSS THE LAKES, SUPPORTING GUSTY
SOUTH-SOUTHWEST WINDS. THE STRONGEST WINDS WILL BE ACROSS SAGINAW
BAY OUT INTO THE OPEN WATERS OF CENTRAL LAKE HURON WHERE GUSTS OF 35
TO 40 KNOT GALES ARE EXPECTED. AFTER A SLIGHT WEAKENING OF THE WINDS
ACROSS LAKE ST CLAIR AND THE MICHIGAN WATERS OF LAKE ERIE THIS
MORNING, AN INCREASE IN THE GRADIENT AND DEEPENING MIXING DEPTHS
WILL SUPPORT ANOTHER CHANCE FOR SOME GUSTS UP TO GALE FORCE THIS
AFTERNOON.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN DETROIT/PONTIAC HAS ISSUED A LOW
WATER ADVISORY WHICH IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 AM EDT THIS MORNING.

* WATER LEVELS...AT 4 AM WATER LEVELS WERE NEAR THE CRITICAL MARK
  FOR SAFE NAVIGATION...OR 13 INCHES ABOVE LOW WATER DATUM. THE
  WATER LEVEL IS EXPECTED TO DROP TO 6 INCHES BELOW THE CRITICAL
  MARK OR 30 INCHES BELOW THE RECENT AVERAGE LEVELS. WATER LEVELS
  WILL BEGIN TO RISE BY MID MORNING.

* WIND AND WAVES: DURING THE GALE WARNING...EXPECT SUSTAINED
  WINDS UP TO 26 KNOTS FROM THE SOUTHWEST WITH GUSTS UP TO 36
  KNOTS. THE LARGEST EXPECTED SIGNIFICANT WAVES WILL BE 5 FEET
  WITH A POTENTIAL MAXIMUM WAVE HEIGHT OF 7 FEET.

* TIMING: THE MAXIMUM WINDS ARE EXPECTED AROUND 6 PM EDT TUESDAY
  WITH THE LARGEST WAVES EXPECTED AROUND 7 PM EDT TUESDAY.

RECOMMENDED THAT MARINERS WITHOUT THE PROPER EXPERIENCE SEEK SAFE
HARBOR PRIOR TO THE ONSET OF GALE CONDITIONS.
