URGENT - MARINE WEATHER MESSAGE...CORRECTED

315 AM EST SUN FEB 25 2018

...SOUTHWEST TO WEST GALES TODAY...

.RAPIDLY DEEPENING LOW PRESSURE TRACKING NORTHWEST OF THE REGION WILL
LEAD TO A TIGHT PRESSURE GRADIENT AND SOUTHWESTERLY GALE FORCE WINDS
TODAY AND INTO EARLY TONIGHT ACROSS LAKE HURON, ESPECIALLY ACROSS
CENTRAL LAKE HURON AND THE STRAITS WHERE HIGH-END GALES ARE LIKELY.
A FEW SPORADIC GUSTS TO STORM FORCE CANNOT BE RULED OUT ACROSS
CENTRAL LAKE HURON AS WELL, BUT DURATION WILL BE TOO SHORT TO
WARRANT AN UPGRADE TO THE ONGOING GALE WARNING. HIGH PRESSURE
BUILDING IN BEHIND THE DEPARTING LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL LEAD TO
WINDS RAPIDLY DIMINISHING LATE TONIGHT AND INTO MONDAY. LIGHT
SOUTHWESTERLY FLOW WILL CONTINUE TO PREVAIL INTO TUESDAY WITH HIGH
PRESSURE PASSING BY TO THE SOUTH.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN DETROIT/PONTIAC HAS ISSUED A GALE
WARNING WHICH IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 PM EST THIS AFTERNOON.

* WIND AND WAVES: DURING THE GALE WARNING...EXPECT SUSTAINED
  WINDS UP TO 24 KNOTS FROM THE WEST WITH GUSTS UP TO 36 KNOTS.
  THE LARGEST EXPECTED SIGNIFICANT WAVES WILL BE 3 FEET WITH A
  POTENTIAL MAXIMUM WAVE HEIGHT OF 4 FEET.

* TIMING: THE MAXIMUM WINDS ARE EXPECTED AROUND 9 AM EST SUNDAY
  WITH THE LARGEST WAVES EXPECTED AROUND 9 AM EST SUNDAY.

EXPERIENCE AND PROPERLY EQUIPPED VESSELS. IT IS HIGHLY
RECOMMENDED THAT MARINERS WITHOUT THE PROPER EXPERIENCE SEEK SAFE
HARBOR PRIOR TO THE ONSET OF GALE CONDITIONS.
