...THUNDERSTORMS APPROACHING THE WATERS...

The areas affected include...
  Sandy Hook NJ to Fire Island Inlet NY out 20 NM...

  New York Harbor...

At 1008 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms, capable of
producing winds to around 20 knots. These thunderstorms were located
along a line extending from 7 nm north of Upper New York Harbor to 9
nm southwest of South Amboy, moving east at 25 knots.

Locations impacted include...
Raritan Bay, Upper New York Harbor, Rockaway Inlet, Sandy Hook Bay,
The Verrazano Narrows Bridge, Lower New York Harbor and Jamaica Bay.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 20 knots...locally higher
waves...and lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor
immediately until these storms pass.
