Oppressive temperatures and dangerous heat indices continue across the southern Plains and Lower Mississippi Valley, especially in Texas. The Excessive Heat expands to the Southwest, California and parts of Oregon starting Monday. Meanwhile, unsettled weather will persist over the East, as locally heavy to excessive rainfall shifts from the Mid-Atlantic to the Northeast.
