High pressure building into the Western U.S. will create strong offshore winds in southern California. Temperatures in this region are unseasonably hot, and conditions are dry. The combination of these strong winds and dry conditions will bring fire danger to portions of southern California. Red Flag Warnings are in effect here. Any new fires in this region could quickly grow out of control.

Synopsis: PHZ100-231945- 926 PM HST Sun Oct 22 2017 .Synopsis for Hawaiian coastal waters... A front northwest of the area is moving southeastward toward the main Hawaiian Islands. The front is expected to start affecting Kauai waters Monday night and will sweep across the island chain, reaching the Big Island waters on Tuesday. Thunderstorms will be possible ahead of and along the front. A large northwest swell will move into the area starting Tuesday. A new high will build far northwest of the area by the middle of the week. $$
