The Excessive Heat expands to the Southwest, California and parts of Oregon starting Monday. Meanwhile, unsettled weather will persist over the East, as locally heavy to excessive rainfall shifts from the Mid-Atlantic to the Northeast.

Synopsis: The combination of high pressure over the southern Gulf with a weak low pressure trough over the lee of the Sierra Madre through Monday will maintain moderate to locally strong southerly flow over the Laguna Madre, with lesser winds over the deeper Gulf waters. The pressure systems will weaken Tuesday through Thursday with lighter winds across all waters. Seas will be slight to moderate through the period.
