A frontal system will bring heavy precipitation, including mountain snowfall to much of the Pacific Northwest, northern California, and portions of the Rockies through Tuesday. Elsewhere, wet weather will return to much of the South with locally heavy rainfall; a few strong to severe thunderstorms will also be possible in this region by Tuesday.

Synopsis: Light winds and lower seas will persist through much of this week with weak high pressure becoming established over the Eastern Gulf. Winds today will become southeast as a coastal trough develops along the lower Texas coast. A weak front moves across the region tuesday night and Wednesday but with no appreciable increase in winds or seas. Another frontal boundary is expected by late Friday with increasing winds and seas not out of the question.
