Widespread gusty winds combined with dry conditions will support elevated to critical fire weather concerns across eastern New Mexico and much of the southern High Plains today; Critical fire weather conditions are also forecast in Guam. Later this evening, an Atmospheric River event will produce moderate to locally heavy rainfall over central and southern California through Saturday.

Sat: E winds 15 to 20 knots with gusts up to 30 knots. Wind waves 3 to 4 ft. W swell 10 to 12 ft at 12 seconds. Showers and a chance of thunderstorms.

Sat Night: N winds 10 to 15 knots with gusts up to 25 knots. Wind waves 2 to 3 ft. W swell 8 to 10 ft at 12 seconds and S around 2 ft at 16 seconds. A slight chance of thunderstorms.
