Active Weather Pattern in the West and into the Central U.S.

A series of weather systems will bring locally heavy rain, 1 to 3 feet of mountain snow, and strong winds up to 75 mph across the western states. Later this weekend and early next week, a strong low pressure system will spread wintry conditions and strong winds from the Plains into the Upper Midwest. Strengthening winds in the Southern Plains will increase fire weather threats. Warmer in the east.

Overnight: Northeast wind 5 to 10 knots. Slight chance of snow showers after midnight.

Tuesday: North wind 5 to 10 knots. Mostly cloudy.

Tuesday Night: West wind 5 to 10 knots. Partly cloudy.

Wednesday: Southwest wind 15 to 20 knots with gusts to around 25 knots. Mostly cloudy. see the open lakes forecast for days 3 through 5. this is the last issuance of the nearshore marine forecast for the season. This product will resume seven days prior to the opening of the soo locks, scheduled for march 25 2018, or sooner if warmer temperatures would cause ice to dissipate.
