Cool and Dry in the East; Turning Stormy in the Northwest

Much cooler temperatures behind a cold front will bring a feeling of fall to the East Coast today. In addition, an active fall storm pattern developing in the Pacific Northwest this week will bring areas of heavy rain and high elevation snow. Northern California will benefit from rainfall this week that will aid firefighters given the recent large wildfires.

Wednesday Night: Southwest winds 5 to 10 knots becoming south. Clear. Waves 2 feet or less.

Thursday: South winds 10 to 15 knots becoming southwest 15 to 20 knots. Sunny. Waves 1 to 3 feet building to 2 to 4 feet.

Thursday Night: West winds 15 to 20 knots becoming northwest 10 to 15 knots. Becoming mainly clear. Waves 2 to 4 feet subsiding to 1 to 3 feet.
