Wildire Danger Continues in Southern California

High pressure building into the Western U.S. will create strong offshore winds in southern California. Temperatures in this region are unseasonably hot, and conditions are dry. The combination of these strong winds and dry conditions will bring fire danger to portions of southern California. Red Flag Warnings are in effect here. Any new fires in this region could quickly grow out of control.

Tonight: South winds to 30 kt turning sharply to north late this afternoon, then easing to 15 to 25 kt this evening and then to 10 to 20 kt after midnight. Rain. Waves 4 to 7 ft occasionally to 9 ft subsiding to 3 to 5 ft after midnight.

Monday: North winds 10 to 20 kt becoming northwest 10 to 15 kt by late afternoon. Chance of rain, mainly in the morning. Waves 2 to 4 ft subsiding to 1 to 3 ft.

Monday Night: West winds 15 to 25 kt becoming northwest to 30 kt by late evening. Showers likely. Waves 2 to 4 ft building to 5 to 8 ft occasionally to 10 ft.

Tuesday: Northwest winds to 30 kt increasing to gales to 40 kt in the afternoon. Showers. Waves building to 8 to 12 ft occasionally to 16 ft.

Tuesday Night: Northwest gales to 35 kt diminishing to 30 kt. Chance of rain showers. Waves 8 to 11 ft occasionally to 14 ft.

Wednesday: Northwest winds 15 to 25 kt becoming west 10 to 20 kt. Chance of rain showers. Waves 5 to 8 ft occasionally to 10 ft subsiding to 4 to 6 ft occasionally to 8 ft.

Wednesday Night: Northwest winds 10 to 20 kt becoming west 10 to 15 kt. Waves subsiding to 2 to 4 ft.

Thursday: South winds 15 to 25 kt increasing to 30 kt. Waves 3 to 5 ft.

Friday: West winds to 30 kt. Chance of rain showers. Waves 4 to 6 ft occasionally to 8 ft.
