Summer Heat Continues For Several Spots, While Severe Storms With Torrential Rainfall Will Threaten The Northeast into Mid-Atlantic Region

More summer heat is expected for parts of the West, South and Northeast before focusing over the southern Plains later this week. Excessive Heat Warnings are in effect for parts of the West, while Heat Advisories blanket each region. A strong cold front will clash with a hot, very moist air mass for afternoon/evening severe storms w/ high winds and intense rainfall from the Northeast to Mid-Atl.

Wednesday: Northeast winds 10 to 15 kt becoming north. Waves 1 to 3 ft.

Wednesday Night: Northeast winds 10 to 20 kt diminishing to 5 to 10 kt late in the evening, then becoming southeast overnight. waves 2 to 4 ft subsiding to 1 to 3 ft.

Thursday: Southeast winds 10 to 15 kt increasing to 10 to 20 kt. Waves 1 to 3 ft.

Thursday Night: Southeast winds 15 to 25 kt becoming south. Chance of showers and thunderstorms overnight. Waves 2 to 4 ft building to 3 to 5 ft.

Friday: South winds 15 to 25 kt. Chance of showers and thunderstorms in the morning, then showers likely with a chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon. Waves 4 to 6 ft occasionally to 8 ft.

Friday Night: Southwest winds 10 to 20 kt becoming west 10 to 15 kt. Chance of showers. Waves 3 to 5 ft subsiding to 1 to 3 ft.

Saturday: West winds 10 to 20 kt becoming northwest. Chance of showers. Waves 1 to 3 ft.

Sunday: North winds 15 to 25 kt. Chance of showers. Waves 4 to 7 ft occasionally to 9 ft.
