Stormy Weather Along the East Coast; Mountain Snow and Valley Rain in the West

Showers and thunderstorms will linger along the east coast through this evening. Locally heavy rain is possible and may lead to isolated instances of flooding, especially in the Mid-Atlantic through the New England region. A front moving across the west will keep mountain snow and low elevation rain chances in the forecast through Friday. Heavy rain is expected in central/southern California.

Friday: West winds 5 to 10 knots backing to the southwest late in the afternoon. Waves 1 to 3 feet.

Friday Night: North winds 5 to 10 knots early in the evening becoming light and variable. Waves 1 to 3 feet.

Saturday: East winds 5 to 10 knots increasing to 10 to 15 knots in the late morning and afternoon. Showers likely and a chance of snow showers in the morning...then a chance of rain and snow showers in the afternoon. Waves 1 to 3 feet.

Saturday Night: Northeast winds 5 to 10 knots backing to the northwest in the late evening and early morning...then increasing to 10 to 15 knots after midnight. Waves 1 to 3 feet.

Sunday: Northwest winds 10 to 15 knots becoming north 5 to 10 knots late in the morning...then veering to the east late in the evening. Waves 1 to 3 feet.

Monday: East winds 5 to 10 knots becoming northeast 10 to 15 knots. A chance of showers in the late morning and early afternoon. Showers likely until early morning. Waves 1 to 3 feet building to 3 to 5 feet in the late evening and early morning.

Tuesday: Northeast winds 15 to 20 knots. A chance of showers... Then a chance of rain and snow showers in the late evening and early morning. Waves 3 to 5 feet.
