Wildfire Danger Continues in Southern California

High pressure building into the Western U.S. will create strong offshore winds in southern California. Temperatures in this region are unseasonably hot, and conditions are dry. The combination of these strong winds and dry conditions will bring fire danger to portions of southern California. Red Flag Warnings are in effect here. Any new fires in this region could quickly grow out of control.

Tonight: South winds 15 to 20 knots becoming southwest 20 to 25 knots with gusts to 30 knots in the late evening and overnight. Rain. Waves 2 to 4 feet.

Tuesday: Southwest winds 20 to 25 knots with gusts to 30 knots increasing to 30 knots with gusts to 35 knot gales in the afternoon. Mostly cloudy. Light showers likely until late afternoon...then a chance of light showers late in the afternoon. Waves 3 to 5 feet. Waves occasionally around 7 feet. A gale warning may be needed.

Tuesday Night: Southwest winds to 30 knots with gusts to 35 knot gales diminishing to 20 to 25 knots with gusts to 30 knots after midnight. Cloudy. Light showers likely until early morning...then a chance of light showers early in the morning. Waves 3 to 5 feet.
