Stormy Weather Along the East Coast; Mountain Snow and Valley Rain in the West

Showers and thunderstorms will linger along the east coast through this evening. Locally heavy rain is possible and may lead to isolated instances of flooding, especially in the Mid-Atlantic through the New England region. A front moving across the west will keep mountain snow and low elevation rain chances in the forecast through Friday. Heavy rain is expected in central/southern California.

Tonight: Southwest winds 5 to 10 knots becoming southeast. A chance of rain showers late. Waves 1 foot or less.

Saturday: Southeast winds 10 to 15 knots becoming southwest. Rain showers in the morning, then a chance of rain showers in the afternoon. Waves 2 feet or less.

Saturday Night: West winds 5 to 15 knots becoming northwest. Waves 1 to 3 feet.

Sunday: Northeast winds 5 to 15 knots becoming east. A chance of rain showers during the day, then rain showers sunday night. Waves 1 to 3 feet.

Monday: Northeast winds 10 to 15 knots. Showers. Waves 2 to 4 feet subsiding to 1 to 3 feet.

Tuesday: North winds 10 to 15 knots becoming northwest 15 to 20 knots. A chance of rain showers. Waves 1 to 3 feet building to 2 to 4 feet.
