Snow Will Persist in the Northeast and Great Lake States

Heavy Lake Effect snow will continue to the lee of the Great Lakes for the next couple of days. Snow will also return to the Northeast by Tuesday as another front moves in. Bitter cold wind chills can be expected in the Upper Mississippi Valley. Freezing temperatures will even impact central Florida. Meanwhile, elevated fire weather conditions will persist in southern California.

Monday Night: North winds around 10 knots diminishing to around 5 knots after midnight, then becoming variable less than 5 knots toward morning. Bay and inland waters a light chop.

Tuesday: Southwest winds around 5 knots then becoming west 5 to 10 knots late in the morning, then increasing to around 15 knots in the afternoon. Bay and inland waters a moderate chop.

Tuesday Night: North winds around 15 knots. Bay and inland waters a moderate chop.

Wednesday: North winds around 10 knots. Bay and inland waters a light chop.
