Active Weather Pattern in the West and into the Central U.S.

A series of weather systems will bring locally heavy rain, 1 to 3 feet of mountain snow, and strong winds up to 75 mph across the western states. Later this weekend and early next week, a strong low pressure system will spread wintry conditions and strong winds from the Plains into the Upper Midwest. Strengthening winds in the Southern Plains will increase fire weather threats. Warmer in the east.

Saturday: South winds 15 to 20 knots decreasing to 10 to 15 knots in the afternoon. Seas 5 to 7 feet with occasional seas up to 8 feet. A chance of showers and isolated thunderstorms in the morning, then a slight chance of showers in the afternoon.

Saturday Night: Southeast winds 10 to 15 knots. Seas 5 to 6 feet with occasional seas up to 7 feet. A slight chance of showers.
