Flooding and Severe Weather Risk Continues This Weekend

More heavy rain will exacerbate flooding in the central and southern U.S. this weekend. In addition, over portions of the Mississippi, Ohio, and Tennessee Valleys, severe thunderstorms are expected. Some storms may produce large hail, damaging winds, and tornadoes. Meanwhile, snow and ice will again affect the Cascades, northern Rockies, upper Midwest, and New England through Sunday.

Tonight: South winds 5 to 10 knots becoming north 10 to 15 knots after midnight. Seas 2 to 4 feet. Areas of fog in the evening, then patchy fog after midnight. A chance of showers and thunderstorms in the evening, then a slight chance of showers after midnight.

Monday: Northeast winds 10 to 15 knots. Seas 3 to 4 feet. A slight chance of showers.

Monday Night: East winds 10 to 15 knots. Seas 2 to 4 feet. A slight chance of showers.

Tuesday: Southeast winds 10 to 15 knots becoming south in the afternoon. Seas 2 to 3 feet. A chance of showers and thunderstorms.
